Cancellation and Refund Policy

This policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and non-refundable fees are handled for bookings made through PlayMyGame Booking.

1. Host Cancellation Rules

Each host sets their own cancellation window and refund eligibility period for their sessions. Refund requests are assessed based on the cancellation policy configured by the host at the time of booking.

The applicable cancellation policy will always be shown before payment is completed.

  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the session
  • Partial refund within a specified time period
  • No refunds after the cancellation deadline

2. Platform & Payment Processing Fees

All bookings include a Platform Service Fee for use of the app and booking platform, plus a Payment Processing Fee charged by Stripe or another payment provider.

These fees are non-refundable once a booking has been successfully processed, including when a session refund is approved.

This is because the platform service has already been provided and payment processing fees are charged immediately by the payment provider and are not returned to the platform.

3. Refund Amount

If a cancellation qualifies for a refund under the host’s cancellation policy, users will receive a refund of the net session amount only. Platform fees and payment processing fees are deducted and remain non-refundable.

Example:

  • Session Fee: $20
  • Platform Fee: $2
  • Stripe Processing Fee: $1
  • Net Session Fee: $17
  • If eligible for a refund, the refundable amount would be $17 only, being the net session fee.

4. No-Show Policy

Users who fail to attend a booked session without cancelling within the allowed cancellation period may not be eligible for any refund.

5. Host Cancellations

If a host cancels a session, the session amount will be refunded in accordance with platform policy.

Platform and processing fees may also be refunded at the platform’s discretion in cases where the session did not occur.

6. Refund Processing Time

Approved refunds may take 2–10 business days to appear in the original payment method, depending on the payment provider and bank processing times.

7. Disputes & Exceptional Circumstances

The platform reserves the right to review refund requests and make final decisions in cases involving the following circumstances:

  • Emergencies
  • Technical issues
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Safety concerns
  • Duplicate charges

8. Agreement

By completing a booking, users acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • The host’s cancellation policy
  • The platform’s refund rules
  • The non-refundable nature of platform and payment processing fees
